Counselling in East Grinstead
Barbara has over 25 years of experience of working with mental health issues, in settings spanning homelessness and acute mental health difficulties, Older Adults, Adults, Personality Disorder and CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services).
I hope to offer a warm, non-judgemental and empathetic space in which to think about and process issues pertaining to anxiety, phobias, mild addictions, depression, and relationship difficulties including the aftermath of a separation.
This space can be used to talk about many issues, for example if you think you have been in an abusive or coercive relationship with a family member, friend or partner, if you are having work difficulties, or struggling to come terms with a change of circumstances or entering a new life stage whether this is struggling with children and teenagers or adjusting to health issues, bereavement, loneliness and retirement.
Whatever your current challenge I aim to work towards developing a new and positive narrative based on resilience, endurance and hope. I hope to provide an understanding and encouraging environment in which to process current difficulties while moving towards the future where possible.
I work integratively using various models including psychodynamic theory and CBT where requested, and using strategies and exercises where appropriate from other psychological theories.
Please email me or contact me for an initial telephone consultation if you would like to discuss whether there is an issue I can help you with.
